Our 20mm Premium Class 3 Crushed Rock is a high-quality, blue-grey crushed rock produced to the recognised Class 3 road-base specification used in Victoria.
Unlike general-purpose NDCR road base, Class 3 crushed rock is manufactured to controlled grading requirements, giving a more consistent blend of 20mm stone and fines. When correctly laid, moisture-conditioned and compacted, those fines help the material bind together to create a firm, stable and durable base.
Class 3 crushed rock is a recognised pavement material under Victorian road construction specifications, with grading requirements for 20mm Class 3 material set out through the VicRoads/DTP crushed-rock specification framework.
The key difference is consistency, specification and appearance.
This product has the traditional blue-grey crushed-rock colour commonly seen on established driveways throughout the Hills. Compared with our lower-cost brown road base, it provides a cleaner-looking, more uniform finish and is the better choice where matching an existing blue-grey driveway is important.
It is also the appropriate option where a customer, contractor or project specification specifically calls for Class 3 crushed rock, rather than a general-purpose non-specification road base.

Please note: Crushed rock is a natural quarry product, so colour and appearance can vary slightly between loads. Class 3 contains fines by design to assist compaction.
