The local General Store
The Upper Beaconsfield General Store has been part of the local community since 1885. Today it is still the sort of place where you can grab a coffee, meet someone for brekky, pick up something for home and run into half the town while you're here.
The cafe sits alongside our pantry & provisions, gifts, news and everyday retail. Add the drive-thru, our Barnyard, Chug the orange tractor and Bugs the cat, and it feels a little different from a standard cafe — exactly how a General Store should be.
From first coffee to lunch
Start early with coffee, settle in for breakfast, stop for lunch or order ahead when you're on the move. The cafe is built around easy, generous local hospitality.

Need to keep moving? Come through the drive-thru for coffee or takeaway without leaving the car. Dogs are regular visitors, and horses regularly come through too — they are very welcome. We keep dog biscuits and Smoochie horse treats on hand, so the four-legged customers don't miss out either.

Coffee matters
At the General Store our house coffee is Corcovado by Zest Specialty Coffee Roasters. It is designed for smooth, chocolatey, nutty and indulgent milk coffees, while still holding its own served black. Expect mandarin, macadamia and dark chocolate black, with sweeter caramel, vanilla and coconut-chocolate notes through milk.
