One business, lots of different jobs
Across the Upper Beaconsfield General Store and our Over the Road cafés, our team makes coffee, cooks food, serves customers, handles stock, works in the Barnyard and delivers firewood, gas and water.
Some people work with us around school or university. Others grow into barista, kitchen, supervisor, driver, retail or leadership roles.

Upper Beaconsfield, Emerald and Gembrook
We are looking for a skilled and experienced barista who is confident working in genuinely busy cafés and can maintain quality, speed and consistency throughout service.
You must be available for at least one weekend day. Availability for two weekdays is strongly preferred. You must also be comfortable working across our three locations in Upper Beaconsfield, Emerald and Gembrook.
Genuine high-volume café experience is essential. You should be comfortable working with approximately 5kg of coffee per day, dialing in grinders, monitoring coffee quality and producing consistently strong coffee under pressure.
Looking for your first job?
It’s normal to feel nervous about approaching an employer for the first time.
We don’t expect young applicants to have heaps of experience. We do look for confidence, initiative, reliability and a willingness to learn.
Your parent or guardian can help you prepare, but we want to hear from you.
Where possible, bring in a simple résumé, ask for a manager or supervisor and introduce yourself.
You don’t need to be fearless. You just need to be willing to speak for yourself, listen and have a go.
Look at our website and social pages. Know which location and type of work interests you.
Include school, sport, activities, volunteering, achievements, availability and a suitable referee. It doesn’t need to be fancy.
Avoid busy breakfast, lunch and weekend rushes. Ask politely for a manager or supervisor and speak for yourself.
Tell us what you can genuinely commit to. Weekends and school holidays are often when we need the most help.
A polite follow-up is fine. We may simply be busy or still working through applications.
