Shipping policy

Upper Beaconsfield General Store is a registered business name held by The Trustee for River Beach Trust No 1 (ABN 81 886 527 218).

We provide local delivery for selected products, including water, firewood, LPG gas, garden and landscape supplies, pet food, stockfeed and other bulky goods.

Before placing an order
Delivery and collection options depend on the product, delivery address, vehicle access, stock availability and scheduling capacity.

Delivery availability and service area

Enter your delivery address during checkout to see the options available for an online order.

If your address is outside the available checkout area, or you are unsure whether we can safely access your property, please contact us before ordering.

Submitting an order does not guarantee that we can deliver to a particular location. We may contact you to confirm the address, access conditions, product quantity or delivery arrangements before accepting or dispatching the order.

Delivery charges

Applicable delivery charges will be displayed at checkout or disclosed to you before we accept the order.

Unless stated otherwise, a quoted local-delivery charge covers:

  • one delivery vehicle;
  • one agreed delivery run;
  • delivery to one address; and
  • unloading at a safe and reasonably accessible location.

Where products can safely and legally travel in the same vehicle, we may combine them into one load.

Additional vehicles, trips, waiting time or special handling requested by the customer may incur an additional charge. We will disclose and obtain agreement to an additional charge before incurring it.

Delivery dates and times

Any delivery date or time provided is an estimate unless we expressly agree otherwise.

Delivery timing can be affected by:

  • weather and road conditions;
  • vehicle or equipment issues;
  • supplier or stock delays;
  • driver availability;
  • safe-access requirements; and
  • unusually high demand.

We will contact you if there is a material delay or if we need further information.

Please ensure that your delivery address, telephone number, email address and delivery instructions are complete and accurate.

Safe vehicle access

Our standard delivery point is a safe, lawful and reasonably accessible location at or near the property boundary, driveway entrance or another location agreed with us.

Before delivery, you must tell us about relevant site conditions, including:

  • locked gates or restricted access;
  • steep, narrow, soft or unstable driveways;
  • low branches, powerlines or other overhead hazards;
  • underground services or structures;
  • animals on the property;
  • limited turning or unloading space;
  • tank locations and filling connections; and
  • any other condition that may affect safe access.

Our driver may refuse, postpone or stop a delivery where access is unsafe, unlawful or likely to damage a person, vehicle, equipment or property.

If you request that our vehicle enter beyond the standard delivery point, you are responsible for ensuring that suitable access and authority are available.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

Water deliveries

Before a water delivery, you must ensure that:

  • the receiving tank has sufficient available capacity for the amount ordered;
  • the tank and filling point can be identified and safely accessed;
  • the driveway and surrounding area are suitable for the delivery vehicle;
  • hoses can safely reach the filling point from the agreed vehicle position; and
  • gates are unlocked or access arrangements have been provided.

Our driver may stop filling if the tank reaches capacity or if continuing would be unsafe.

The customer is responsible for confirming the amount of water the tank can receive. Any undelivered amount caused by insufficient tank capacity, inaccurate customer information or unsafe access will be handled reasonably according to the circumstances and subject to the Australian Consumer Law.

Water-delivery cancellations
Customer-requested cancellations are generally provided as a future water-delivery credit or rescheduled delivery rather than a cash refund. See our Return and refund policy for full details.

Firewood, soil, mulch and other bulk products

You must nominate a safe and accessible unloading location.

Bulk products may have natural variations in colour, size, texture, moisture, composition or appearance. These reasonable variations do not remove your rights where a product fails to meet its description or an Australian Consumer Law guarantee.

Once unloading begins, our driver may decide that a requested location is unsuitable or unsafe and select the nearest safe alternative.

LPG gas and regulated products

LPG cylinders and other regulated products are delivered and exchanged subject to applicable safety, identification, access and handling requirements.

Some orders may require:

  • an adult recipient;
  • proof of age or identification;
  • a signature;
  • the return or exchange of an eligible cylinder; or
  • compliance with product-specific safety requirements.

We may refuse delivery if these requirements are not met.

Receiving your order

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible and promptly contact us if a product is missing, damaged or incorrect.

If nobody is present, we will only leave an order where:

  • you have authorised us to do so;
  • the product does not require an attended handover; and
  • the location is safe and lawful.

Risk in the products passes to you when they are delivered to the agreed location, except where the law provides otherwise.

Store collection

Where store collection is available, please wait until we confirm that your order is ready.

Bring your order confirmation and, where reasonably required, identification. Orders must be collected during the arranged collection or opening hours.

Our Return and refund policy explains your rights and available remedies for faulty, damaged, missing or incorrectly supplied products.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
