One beautiful day out

One ride. Two villages. A steam train home.

A day of lakeside views, forest trails, good food and a heritage steam train. Follow the journey from Emerald Lake Park through Wright Forest to Gembrook, then let Puffing Billy bring you back towards Emerald.

  1. Start at Over the Road Emerald

    Begin with coffee or breakfast, collect your e-bike and helmet, and ask about adding a picnic pack to collect before you set off.

  2. Emerald Lake Park

    Ride through the park and enjoy the views beside Emerald Lake (Lake Treganowan).

  3. Wright Forest

    Continue along forest trails towards Gembrook, with e-bike assistance for the climbs.

  4. Lunch at Over the Road Gembrook

    Return your e-bike, choose something delicious from our menu and explore the village.

  5. All aboard Puffing Billy

    Catch Puffing Billy from Gembrook to Lakeside, then take a transfer back to our Over the Road Emerald café.

Ride through Emerald Lake Park and pause by the lake, then continue through Wright Forest towards Gembrook. An e-bike helps with the hills, leaving time to enjoy lunch and explore the village before your train.

  1. E-bike and helmet — collect in Emerald and leave the bikes with us in Gembrook.
  2. Good food, served by locals — discover the Over the Road menu, with lunch and picnic options.
  3. Steam train return — Puffing Billy from Gembrook to Lakeside, followed by a transfer back to our Emerald café.
